Turns out I am quite nationalistic after all.  The fact that he is British as well as Scottish did add an extra dimension of angst to the spectating experience.  I have not ever felt that excited and fearful all at once for so long, knowing that he could lose it all during the last three championship points, after the gargantuan slog in that heat.

It's a strange thing, wanting someone to win a tournament because he is of the same nationality as oneself. Crazy! But it felt like the 2013 Olympic collective experience, feel good in the sun moments, over again...we need more of such times! Smiley folk everywhere...changes the world for a while!
